										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong data-start="0" data-end="12">Camphene</strong> (CAS 79-92-5) is a bicyclic monoterpene that occurs naturally in the essential oils of plants such as pine, <a href="https://dmg.es/en/cypress-essential-oil-discovering-its-uses-properties-and-history/">cypress</a>,<a href="https://dmg.es/en/rosemary-essential-oil-history-features-and-benefits/"> rosemary</a>, <a href="https://dmg.es/en/ginger-essential-oil-properties-history-and-uses/">ginger</a> and <a href="https://dmg.es/en/neroli-oil-uses-history-and-fragrance-of-orange-blossom-essence/">orange blossoms(neroli)</a>.</p>
<p>It is an isomer of <strong data-start="517" data-end="528">pinenes</strong> (alpha-pinene and beta-pinene) and <strong data-start="564" data-end="576">limonene</strong>. Although it shares the same molecular formula (C<sub>10</sub>H<sub>16</sub>) with these aromatic chemicals, the arrangement of its molecular structure gives it distinct organoleptic properties and makes it the only member of the group that occurs as a crystalline solid at room temperature, with a <strong data-start="854" data-end="871">melting point</strong> of around 48–52 °C.</p>
<p data-start="893" data-end="1118" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">Its name derives from the Latin <em data-start="925" data-end="935">camphora</em>, reflecting its <strong data-start="952" data-end="987">close relationship with camphor</strong>, a semi-solid, crystalline aromatic compound that can be produced on an industrial scale through the oxidation of camphene itself.</p>

<h2>Camphene Production Methods</h2>
<p class="PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer" data-start="0" data-end="220">Although camphene can be obtained by <strong data-start="37" data-end="75">extraction from the essential oils</strong> that contain it, its concentration in these oils is generally low, making this method unviable for meeting the high levels of industrial demand.</p>
<p data-start="222" data-end="439" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">For this reason, camphene is currently produced mainly through the <strong data-start="289" data-end="328">catalytic isomerization of α-pinene</strong>, a monoterpene that is abundant in <strong data-start="364" data-end="378">turpentine</strong>, a <strong data-start="382" data-end="413">100% renewable raw material</strong> obtained from pine resin.</p>

<h2>A Brief History of Camphene</h2>
<p class="PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer" data-start="0" data-end="118">The history of camphene is closely linked to the search for alternatives to whale oil as a fuel for domestic lighting.</p>
<p data-start="120" data-end="270" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">In the 1830s, <strong data-start="134" data-end="152">camphine lamps</strong> began to gain popularity. These oil lamps predated kerosene lamps and were designed to burn <strong data-start="245" data-end="269">rectified turpentine</strong>.</p>

<p data-start="178" data-end="449">The widespread use of turpentine and its derivatives prompted 19th-century chemists to study its composition in depth. It was in this context that <strong data-start="325" data-end="348">Marcellin Berthelot</strong> eventually isolated, characterized and formally named <strong data-start="403" data-end="415">camphene</strong> as the pure molecule known today.</p>
<p data-start="451" data-end="836" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">Berthelot was also the scientist who demonstrated in 1870 that <strong data-start="514" data-end="567">authentic camphor could be obtained from camphene</strong>. This discovery represented a major advance in organic chemistry and paved the way for the subsequent development of methods to produce this valuable compound without the need to import the expensive natural variety extracted from the Asian tree <em data-start="814" data-end="835">Cinnamomum camphora</em>.</p>

<h2>Camphene Applications in Modern Industry</h2>

<p>At room temperature, borneol appears as an <strong>opaque, white crystalline solid with a slightly cool feel to the touch</strong>. These organoleptic characteristics are reflected in its Chinese name, <em>bingpian</em>, which literally translates as <strong>&#8220;ice (冰, bīng) flakes (片, piàn).&#8221;</strong></p>
<h1>Methods of Obtaining Borneol</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Historically, borneol was obtained from the naturally crystallized resin found in the fissures of the <em>Dryobalanops aromatica</em> tree.</p>
<p>Although it can still be isolated from essential oils containing naturally occurring borneol, today it is more commonly produced by chemical synthesis. This process typically also yields varying amounts of <strong>isoborneol</strong> (CAS 124-76-5), a stereoisomer of borneol with its own commercial applications, which we will discuss later as it is also one of our manufactured products.</p>

<h1>A Brief History of Borneol</h1>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Native to the island of Borneo, from which it takes its name, borneol was traditionally used by Malay communities in spiritual and funerary rituals.</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Valued more highly than gold, it became an important commodity in ancient maritime trade. Historical records indicate that it was already being exported to China during the Han Dynasty (206 BC–220 AD).</p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd">Since then, its use has become firmly established, particularly within <strong>Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)</strong>, where it has long been employed for conditions affecting the nervous system, respiratory tract and cardiovascular health, among many other applications.</p>
<p>Its significance was such that Li Shizhen devoted a section to borneol in the <em>Bencao Gangmu</em> (1596), one of the most influential encyclopaedic works on Chinese medicine and botany.</p>

<p>Recorded during the pre-commissioning phase of <a href="https://dmg.es/en/progress-in-the-construction-of-dmgs-new-headquarters-in-librilla/">industrial activity in Librilla</a>, the video shows the complete journey of one of our shuttles through the automated warehouse. The footage also shows the system picking up an IBC container at the pallet entry stations and transporting it to its final location on the ninth level of the structure.</p>
<h2><strong>Cutting-edge technology for smart logistics</strong></h2>
<p>The commissioning of this infrastructure is not just a technical advancement, but the driving force behind our operations in Librilla.</p>
<h3><strong>What makes this warehouse so special?</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong> 3D Movement:</strong> The system operates using shuttles capable of moving horizontally and vertically—thanks to three elevators—across nine levels. The shuttles cooperate to optimize and coordinate movement within the warehouse.</li>
<li><strong> Intelligent Management (WMS &amp; PLC):</strong> All movement is controlled by dedicated warehouse management software (WMS) that uses FIFO or LIFO methods. It also integrates directly with our factory WMS and ERP systems for a complete traceability.</li>
<li><strong> Safety and Automatic Classification:</strong> Thanks to the use of scanners and height control, the system verifies and classifies goods according to their dimensions, hazard statements, and chemical incompatibilities, strictly complying with the Chemical Storage Regulations.</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>Capacity, Safety, and Commitment</strong></h2>
<p>These new facilities are designed to the highest safety standards of safety, equipped with <strong>state-of-the-art explosion-proof systems, and compliant with the ATEX directive</strong>. Additionally, this infrastructure allows us to expand our storage capacity to <strong>3,000 pallets. </strong>In the future, it will also provide us with greater expansion capacity and interconnectivity with other production units within these facilities.</p>
<p>In this phase of growth, our objective is clear: that these facilities will help us achieve the levels of excellence in safety, health, environment, and quality that define DMG.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Vetiver (<em>Chrysopogon zizanioides</em>), also known as vetivert, is a perennial grass that belongs to the same family as <a href="https://dmg.es/en/citronella-essential-oil-benefits-properties-and-uses/">citronella</a>. Highly regarded in the world of <strong>fine perfumery and cosmetics</strong>, its essential oil is prized for its distinctive fragrance and remarkable tenacity and longevity. It&#8217;s commonly found as a base note in <strong>oriental-inspired fragrances</strong>, where it harmonizes with a wide range of other olfactory ingredients.</p>
<p>Today, vetiver, native to India, is also cultivated in countries like <strong>Haiti, Indonesia, and Brazil</strong>.</p>
<p>Its name comes from the Tamil word <em>vettiveru</em>, meaning &#8220;dug-up roots.&#8221; These roots grow vertically and can reach up to five meters in length, making them ideal for stabilizing slopes and controlling soil erosion.</p>
<p>It is from these roots and rhizomes that vetiver essential oil is typically extracted through <strong>steam distillation</strong>. <strong>Its green, woody scent with moist, earthy undertones</strong> is present in a significant percentage of Western perfumes.</p>
<p>Through fractional distillation of this oil, <strong>Vetiverol</strong>, a 100% natural sesquiterpene alcohol concentrate, is obtained. This, in turn, produces the highly sought-after <strong>Vetiveryl Acetate</strong>, a key component in high-end perfumery. It offers a <strong>softer, sweeter fragrance</strong> compared to the original oil and is widely used as a fixative.</p>

<p>Unlike other citrus fruits, such as orange and lemon, its origin and use do not date back thousands of years.</p>
<p>It was discovered in Barbados in 1750. It was named by Reverend Griffith Hughes as &#8220;<strong>the forbidden fruit</strong>,&#8221; alluding to the fruit responsible for the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. Today, grapefruit is considered a natural hybrid between the sweet orange (<em>Citrus x sinensis</em>) and the Chinese pomelo (<em>Citrus maxima</em>).</p>
<p>Its essential oil, like most citrus oils, is generally extracted through <strong>cold pressing</strong> of its peel. This mechanical process is carried out at room temperature and does not use solvents, which helps <strong>preserve the natural properties </strong>of the oil. During pressing, the grapefruit peels are compressed, expelling the essential oil they contain.</p>
<p>One of the most valued components of grapefruit essential oil is <strong>nootkatone</strong>. Although it usually constitutes <strong>less than 0.5%</strong> of its composition, is sufficient to be responsible for many of the olfactory notes of this oil.</p>
