On 9th March 2018, Mr. Pedro Muñoz, Director of the Destilerías Muñoz Gálvez, together with the Director of the GENAC Project, Dr. Pedro Trinidad, received the Sustainable Development Award of the Region of Murcia, after the company was awarded in the Eco-innovation category. The prize was awarded in recognition of the “GENAC” Project on the Generation of Added Value in Wastewater, which is capable of obtaining a key raw material for use in the factory, from an advanced treatment of effluents carried out through the WaterReuse process, also developed by Destilerías Muñoz Gálvez.

This award, granted by the Regional Government Office of Tourism, Culture, and Environment, is awarded in recognition of the efforts in sustainable environmental management, eco-efficiency and environmental innovation of companies, institutions, and any organization in the Region of Murcia standing out in its involvement and social commitment to the environment.
